Part of the lifeblood of sports is predicting who will be the team to win it all at the end of the season. At the start of every year, social media is littered with arguments about why everyone’s favorite team will go all the way, and posts of their future bets that will never pay off. It’s nearly impossible to get through a commercial break without at least one commercial for sports betting. And if it is your cup of tea, let this article serve as your gambling advice, free of charge. As we near the beginning of the season for the NHL, we’ve called on our Kennesaw State Owls hockey club to drop their gloves, take off their hockey helmets, and put on their analysts' hats. Using their hockey knowledge, and as little bias as possible(allegedly), here are the official predictions for the 2022-23 NHL Season brought to you by Kennesaw State Hockey:
Nick Bebko #27 F: Penguins
Aaron Tisdale #4 F: KSU vs Penguins… or Caps over Stars
Hamby #19 D: Oilers over Rangers
(C)Adrian Pape #68 D: Preds
Connor Whelan #91 F: Ottawa
Essix Moser #6 F: Not the Blackhawks, so probably the Avalanche.
Alex Wehbe #30 G: Rangers over Avalanche
Daniel Cotnoir #20 F: Bruins over Avalanche
Evan Dennis #92 F: Avalanche over Hurricanes
CJ Billish #9 D: Colorado over Tampa
Chris Scott #48 F: Carolina over Calgary
Landen O’Neil #87 F: Oilers over Panthers
Michael Cooprider #8 D: Hurricanes over Stars
Jack Lakly #16 F: Pens over Avalanche
Ayden Nulty F #10: Hurricanes over Avalanche
Ted Evenson (Team Statistician): Lightning over Wild
Preston Rine (Videographer): Avalanche over Rangers
Well there you have it, the boys were all over the map with their predictions. But the Avalanche did lead the way as favorites to repeat as Stanley Cup Champions. Not quite the overwhelming majority you might be looking for, and I don’t think any sportsbooks are taking bets on Kennesaw State to make the Stanley Cup Final… yet.
