Goaltender Taveon Dees(35) started his first game for Kennesaw State on Saturday night, performing brilliantly despite the loss. Dees faced a high volume of quality chances from the High Point Panthers and kept the Owls in contention for the entirety of the game.
Dees had to make many athletic saves, lunging from side to side to keep the game scoreless early. The Owls committed four minor penalties in the first period alone. The game was deadlocked at 0 more than halfway through the second period until High Point finally put one past Dees’ sprawling body. This lead would grow to two after a short-handed goal by the Panthers thirty-nine seconds into the third period.
KSU would answer back with a goal from Jayden Price(18) to cut the lead to one, but High Point would score a pair late in the third period to salt away this game, 4-1. The loss drops KSU’s record to 1-2 on the season. Their next game is on November 2nd against Georgia at The Cooler in Alpharetta.
