Chris Scott(48) scored to break a 1-1 tie with 7:30 left in the third period to help the Kennesaw
State Owls win their fourth straight game on Friday night at The Cooler.
The Owls trailed 1-0 entering the 3rd period, after Tennessee took the lead late at the end of the
2nd period. The Volunteers nearly took a 2-0 lead in the early stages of 3rd period, but
goaltender Connor Lakly(29) made a remarkable lunging save that brought the home crowd to
their feet. A 2-0 deficit may have put the Owls away for good, but Lakly saved the day.
Nearly six minutes later, Hudson Orgeron(93) jammed a rebound chance home on the
power-play to level the score at 1. This was Orgeron’s 7th goal of the season, which is second
on the team. Not to be out-done, KSU’s leading goal scorer, Chris Scott(48), wired a slap shot
off the crossbar and in to score what would be the game winning goal and his 9th of the season.
The Owls play Tennessee again Saturday night, as they try to sweep the weekend set with the
Volunteers. With the win, Kennesaw State’s record improves to 5-2.
