The Kennesaw State Owls looked to continue their impressive start to the season this past
weekend when they met the very game Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders. The Owls closed
out 2023 by winning five straight games.
In game one, the two teams entered the third period tied at 2 but Middle Tennessee would blow
the game open with four straight goals. Owen Foster(37) would score a late goal to cut the
deficit to 6-3, but the score held up. Jayden Price(18) and KSU scoring leader Hudson
Orgeron(93) also scored for the Owls.
Game two followed a similar pattern, as it was tied 3-3 late in the second period. But this time, it
was Kennesaw State went on a scoring run. Hudson Orgeron(93) scored his second goal of the
game(and third of the weekend) to give KSU the lead late in the second. In the third period,
insurance goals from Jon Ronson(21) and Chris Scott(48) powered the Owls to a 6-4 win.
With the series split, Kennesaw State’s record sits at 7-3 on the season. Since Middle
Tennessee State is not a DIII CHS team, KSU’s conference record remains a perfect 6-0.
